About Najran

Hugging the border with Yemen, Najran Province encompasses almost 150,000 square kilometres in the south of Saudi Arabia. It was part of Yemen until 1926 when King Abdulaziz took control and is still occupied by the Yemeni-descended Yam tribe. While being rich in oil, Najran Province also boasts spectacular landscapes, including the scenic valley of Wadi Najran and the rugged Asir Mountains.
