booked a small Double economy room as this was all which was available so I did have high expirations however the room was well below standard. The basement of the hotel where the room was located has a strong damp or bleach smell. the room itself whilst clean enough was tiny it reminded me of a cabin room on a ferry. The double bed was right against the wall at one side and flat against the wall at the bottom making it extra difficult for the person at the wall side to get out. The bathroom was no larger than a cupboard and there was barely room to stand in it. it had a tiny sink and even the bin was propped up on a shelf as there was no floor space for it. no towel rail. no hand soap. There was only one wooden chair in the room and a kettle which was almost too big of the shelf. No hairdryer. The air conditioning poor and noisy and during the night we were disturbed with what sounded like running water about us. As there was no window in the room (which we were aware of) it was very stuffy. We did ask for a move of room but none were available. I appreciate that is was a very busy weekend in Liverpool but to be charged £200.08 to include breakfast I feel this is terrible value for money. No matter how higher the demand is there is no way that price is acceptable for the stand of the room. Breakfaat was reasonable, no fresh juice or water and you had to make your own coffee and only were allowed cereal if you took the small cooked breakfast option. I was glad we only stayed one night as it was an uncomfortable night and not the sort of hotel or room in which you would be able to relax. it is a shame as I was really looking forward to a relaxing night away in Liverpool to see Blood Brothers and this hotel totally let me down. I would appreciate feedback on this review.
