About Vicenza

Nestled between Lake Garda and the Adriatic Sea, the Province of Vicenza lies in the Veneto region of northern Italy. It centres around the enchanting capital of Vicenza, which is the birthplace of the Italian physicist, Federico Faggin. The Province of Vicenza is an important industrial region, with everything from leather to electronics and grappa produced here.

Discover the historic sights of Vicenza. Located partway between Venice and Verona, Vicenza is clustered with buildings designed by the 16th-century Italian architect, Andrea Palladio. In the heart of Piazza dei Signori is the magnificent Basilica Palladiana, an adjacent museum that houses an impressive collection of religious artefacts. You can also visit Teatro Olimpico, which is beautifully decorated with statues.

Go skiing on the Asiago Plateau. In the far north of the Province of Vicenza is the historic town of Asiago, which attracts skiers and snowboarders during the winter months. There are more than 80 kilometres of trails to explore, with options to suit both advanced snow enthusiasts and beginners. When it’s time to refuel, sample the local Asiago cheese, which has long been made in the region.

Explore Parco Regionale dei Colli Euganei. On the southeastern edge of the Province of Vicenza is this sprawling park, which encompasses the hilly landscapes of the Po Valley. It’s a popular destination for cycling and hiking, with plenty of scenic trails to explore. Ancient archaeological sites and the 16th-century Castello del Catajo are among the park’s historical sites.
