About Bargara

Separated from the bustling hub of Bundaberg by sugarcane fields, Bargara is a peaceful coastal town set around a waterfront esplanade. It’s popular for its open surf beaches, protected swimming coves and alfresco cafes.

Things to do in Bargara

The Esplanade hugs the Bargara Beach foreshore and is a pleasant spot to stroll beside the water. It intersects with the Promenade at Nielsen Beach where you’ll find a selection of international restaurants, fashion retailers and homewares stores.

Visit the Mon Repos Conservation Park, a turtle rookery located north of Bargara. Join a guided tour to witness loggerhead turtles lumbering ashore to lay their eggs or watch as new hatchlings scramble towards the sea.
