Spend your days relaxing on Spiaggia di Bergeggi, a pebbly beach backed by soaring cliffs. You can swim in the crystal clear waters of the Ligurian Sea or slowly paddle along the coastline before enjoying a game of beach volleyball. There are a handful of beachside eateries where you can dine throughout the day, including Stella Maris and Il Gagollo.

At the southern end of Spiaggia di Bergeggi is the Grotta di Bergeggi, an impressive sea cave best accessed by kayak or boat. From this elongated beach, there are magnificent views of Isola di Bergeggi, home to the Antico Monastero di Sant’Eugenio.

For elevated views across the Ligurian Sea, climb to the top of Monte Mao, which rises 440 metres behind Bergeggi. Further inland is the Rocca dei Corvi, a 796-metre-high summit where you can see all the way to the Apuan Alps and Corsica on a clear day. Mountain bikers can head to the Ex-NATO base at Finale Ligure, with a challenging network of trails winding between its graffiti-adorned buildings.
