About Costinesti

Overlooking the Black Sea on Romania’s coastline, Costinești has transformed from a small fishing village into a popular party resort town. It features a long stretch of sand backed by a small inland lake and is dotted with discos that come to life after dark.

You can spend your days relaxing on Plaja Costinești, which has a lively social atmosphere during the summer months. Beach umbrellas and sun loungers are available for rent and there are plenty of places where you can grab food and drinks throughout the day. Hidden behind the beach is Lake Costinești, which boasts a fun-filled water obstacle course.

Located just off the coast of Costinești is the MV E Evangelia, an immense cargo ship from Northern Ireland that was purposely wrecked in 1968. Learn about her journeys between Britain and Australia via the Panama Canal during World War II and her role in shipping frozen meat from Argentina to the Mediterranean.

Getting there

Costinești is a 40-minute drive from Constanța and around 2.5 hours from Bucharest and Henri Coandă International Airport. Trains connect to Costinești railway station and the village is compact enough to explore on foot.
