About Dalmally

Dalmally is a picturesque village set on the Strath of Orchy, a narrow strip of land surrounded by rugged peaks and shimmering lochs. Whitewashed houses and thatch-roof cottages give Dalmally all the charm of a traditional Highland village.

A handful of shops, cafes and pubs make Dalmally an excellent base for adventures in the Scottish Highlands. Visit in spring and summer to see the village in full bloom. Bright-yellow daffodils and purple crocuses spill out from planters and window boxes.

Kilchurn Castle is perched on a rocky peninsula that juts into Loch Awe. The 15th-century castle is a local landmark and recalls the power and prestige of the Campbells of Glenorchy. You’re free to explore the ruins of the ancient stone castle and climb the lookout tower for sweeping views over the loch. The short trail to the castle takes you through lush marshlands. Stop to say hello to adorable highland cattle grazing in the fields.
