About Flå

The picturesque village of Fla is a gateway to the Hallingdal Valley. Set on the banks of the Hallingdalselva River, the village will charm you with its traditional wooden houses and beautiful vistas. Hiking trails wind through the valley and take you to glassy lakes and tumbling waterfalls. The 16-kilometre nature trail around Lake Øyvatn winds past great swimming and fishing spots. Hike up Mount Høgevarde for sweeping views over the mountains and surrounding valley.

Bears, wolves, moose and lynx are just some of the animals you can meet at Bjørneparken. The family-friendly wildlife park features a reptile area complete with snakes, crocodiles, alligators and tortoises, as well as a pair of critically endangered Amur leopards.

Winter snowfall transforms Fla into an outdoor playground. Explore scenic cross-country ski trails and strap in for a dog sledding adventure in the mountains. The nearby Nesfjellet ski resort offers more than 13 kilometres of groomed slopes.

Getting there

Fla is located in Viken county, a two-hour drive from Oslo. Trains running between Oslo and Bergen stop at Fla Station, while rental cars are the best way to explore the Hallingdal Valley at your own pace. Oslo Airport is a two-hour drive away.
