About Ingleton

Located at the junction of the River Doe and River Twiss, Ingleton is a small village on the edge of Yorkshire Dales National Park. Once renowned for its textile mill and collieries, it now attracts visitors due to its natural landmarks that include waterfalls and limestone caves.

Stretch your legs on the eight-kilometre-long Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, which boasts some of the most magnificent woodland scenery in England’s north. Originally opening in 1885, the trail follows the banks of the River Twiss before arriving at the three cascades of Beezley’s Falls. Continue to Rival Falls and through the Baxenghyll Gorge before returning to Ingleton through Twistleton Glen.

Forming part of Yorkshire Dales National Park is White Scar Cave, which is home to one of the largest known chambers in Great Britain - “The Battlefield”. Join a guided tour to experience part of this six-kilometre-long Carboniferous limestone cave, which was first explored by geologists in 1923.

Getting there
