Take a dip at Rye’s main beach that fronts Port Phillip Bay, with sheltered waters for swimming and a children’s playground. The coastal road that runs parallel is lined with fish-and-chip shops, gelaterias and cafes where you can grab a bite to eat while soaking up the beach and jetty views.

A short stroll west of Rye Jetty takes you to the rocky outcrop of White Cliffs where the reconstructed old Lime Burners Kiln is found. It harks back to the mid-19th century when lime extraction was the primary industry in Rye and offers scenic views from its lookout.
