About Saundersfoot

Overlooking a peaceful harbour on the south coast of Wales, Saundersfoot is a family-friendly seaside village in Pembrokeshire. It has existed since at least the medieval period when it was known as Llanussyllt and was an important port for the export of coal and iron ore in the 19th century.

Kick back on family-friendly Saundersfoot Beach, a wide stretch of sand patrolled by an ice cream truck during the summer months. At the northern end lies Copper Hall Beach, while the historic Saundersfoot Lighthouse has watched over the entrance to Saundersfoot Harbour since 1848.

Travelling with kids? Don’t miss a visit to the Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, which started out as a dairy farm and now houses more than 200 animal species from around the globe. Get up close to African lions, Chilean flamingos and Humboldt penguins before watching the playful primates on Lemur Island.

Getting there

Saundersfoot is a 20-minute drive from Pembroke and around an hour from Swansea. Cardiff Airport is just under two hours away and has flights to destinations across Europe. Regular trains connect Swansea to the Saundersfoot railway station and the village is small enough to explore on foot.
