About Scalea

Named after the terrace-style layout of its hillside buildings, Scalea is a picture-perfect commune overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and backed by numerous national parks. Along with centuries-old seafront towers and iconic churches, Scalea features nearby beaches, a water park and popular island.

Things to do in Scalea

Soak up the history of Scalea and the surrounding region by visiting some of the iconic towers, including the circa-1563 Torre Talao, which was once a palace. You can also see the Torre Crawford or Torre di Giuda to soak up views of the sea and countryside. Don’t miss seeing Parrocchia S. Nicola di Platea, which houses priceless religious relics.
