About Ski

Located south of Oslo, Ski is a bustling town that serves as the main commercial hub of Nordre Follo. It lies on an ancient moraine that dates from the Ice Age, with Stone Age tools discovered by farmers in the region when ploughing their fields. There’s also a large shopping mall packed with restaurants and entertainment facilities as well as several golf courses.

Things to do in Ski

Spend an afternoon exploring the centre of Ski, which is clustered with shops, cafes and restaurants serving cuisine from across the globe. In the heart of town is the Ski Storsenter, an indoor mall with fashion, homewares and electronics stores, as well as a cinema complex and a bowling alley.

Keen golfers can test their skills at the Ski Golf Club, a 9-hole course that lies on the eastern edge of town. Further north is the Krokhol Golf Club, which centres around an 18-hole course and boasts one of the largest driving ranges in the area. To develop your short-range skills, take advantage of the club’s practise green and 150-metre training hole.

A short drive north-west of Ski is Tusenfryd, a family-friendly amusement park accessed via an uphill escalator leading through a loop of the “Speed Monster” roller coaster. Want to get your adrenaline pumping? You can brave the steep drop of the SuperSplash water coaster, swing on the “Kanofarten” pirate ship or experience the 3D dark ride, “Thor’s Hammer”.
