About Soller

Backed by the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, Soller is nestled in a picturesque valley blanketed with orange and olive groves. It features a Gaudi-inspired church and scenic walking trails, as well as one of Spain’s most unexpected art galleries.

Things to do in Soller

If you’re travelling to and from Soller by train, explore the small museum of modern art on the ground floor of the station. It’s dedicated to the Spanish artists, Joan Miró and Pablo Picasso, and displays colourful paintings and quirky ceramics.

At the heart of Soller lies the Parish Church of Sant Bartomeu, a Neo-Gothic masterpiece designed by one of Gaudí's students, Joan Rubió i Bellver. It features vaulted ceilings and elegant stained-glass windows, as well as elements from the Baroque and Gothic churches that previously stood on the site.

Soller is a great base for hiking the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, including along the famous Dry Stone Wall trail. The winding roads provide a popular challenge for cyclists, while mountain bikers will find no shortage of inspiration on the rugged trails.

Ride the vintage tram to the picturesque village of Port de Soller, which lies on a horseshoe bay to the north of Soller. It has managed to retain its traditional village charm, with picturesque pockets of sand and a waterfront promenade where you can soak up sunset views.

Getting around Soller

Soller can be reached along a scenic one-hour train ride from Palma de Mallorca. Palma de Mallorca Airport is around 45 minutes’ drive away, while the town can be easily explored on foot.
