The national stadium of France, the 80,698-capacity Stade de France is the home field of France’s national soccer and rugby teams. It’s also used for track and field events, automotive racing and national rugby matches. Stade de France has hosted some of the biggest sporting competitions in the world, including the Rugby World Cup, FIFA World Cup and UEFA Champions League.
Time your visit for one of the big sporting events at Stade de France, such as international rugby matches between France and Fiji, South Africa or Australia. You can also watch live music performances at the stadium, including some of France’s biggest artists.
If you can’t make an event, opt for a guided tour around the stadium, which highlights the legends of the arena and gives you a behind-the-scenes look at some of the areas. The stadium is easily combined with the nearby Parc de la Légion d'Honneur.
Getting there
Stade de France is best reached by catching a bus to one of the surrounding bus stops or the train to the Stade de France - Saint-Denis station, about 15 minutes’ walk away. You can also get the subway to the St Denis/Porte de Paris station and walk 550 metres.
