About Tatariv

Formerly known as Kremintsi, Tatariv is a mountain resort in the rugged Ukrainian Carpathians. It’s believed to have been settled in the 17th century and became a popular escape for Europeans in search of fresh mountain air during the late 19th century.

Tatariv is an ideal base for exploring Carpathian National Nature Park, which is not only the first but also one of the biggest national parks to be established in Ukraine. Stretch your legs on the hiking trails that wind through its alpine meadows and silver fir forests, then marvel at the 84-metre-high drop of the Huk Waterfall.

A short drive south-west of Tatariv is the Yablunytskyj Pass, which once marked the border between Czechoslovakia and Poland and now separates Ivano Frankivsk and Zakarpattya. You can also explore the Stezhka Dovbusha, a beautiful forest traversed by a well-marked hiking trail.

Getting there

Tatariv is just over an hour’s drive from Ivano-Frankivsk International Airport, which has regular flights to Kyiv. Regular trains connect from the Tatariv railway station to Ukraine’s capital while the village is small enough to explore on foot.
