About Bharūch

One of the oldest cities in India, Bharuch sits where the Narmada River flows into the Arabian Sea. It’s renowned for its Hindu temples and a bridge that’s recently been given the golden touch.

One of the most prominent landmarks in Bharuch is the Golden Bridge, a 1,412-metre-long iron bridge across the Narmada River. It was built in 1881 by the British and named after its costly construction and is now literally golden after being painted gold by local authorities.

Make a pilgrimage to the sacred Bhrigu Rishi Temple. Surrounded by the bustling streets of the Dandia Bazaar, it attracts devotees from all over India who come to pay their respects to Maharishi Bhrigu who was responsible for the first Indian astrological writings.
