Admire hundreds of vintage dolls at the Käthe-Kruse-Puppenmuseum. The museum is housed in a former monastery and filled with dolls designed by the famous German doll-maker Käthe Kruse. In addition to beautiful handmade dolls, the museum features exhibits on the life of Käthe Kruse.

Walk through Rieder Tor, a centuries-old city gate built with rose-coloured bricks. It’s one of the last remaining sections of the ancient fortifications that once surrounded Donauworth. The gate funnels you onto Reichsstrasse, a bustling thoroughfare lined with handsome historic buildings painted in a rainbow of pastels. Many were damaged during World War II bombing raids but have been beautifully restored. The street is a shopping hub and home to high-street shops like H&M, as well as independent boutiques.

Enjoy a relaxing stroll along the banks of the Danube and Wornitz Rivers. Tree-lined paths skirt both riverbanks and take you past picturesque parks and gardens. Stop to enjoy a coffee and watch boats cruise past. Rent a bike if you want to cover more ground.
