Munich prides itself on arts and culture, which means there’s plenty to keep urban adventurers entertained. The Deutsches Museum celebrates science and technology, while the BMW Museum is a must for luxury car lovers.
Admire masterpieces at the Alte Pinakothek and Neue Pinakothek galleries, then take in contemporary masterpieces at Pinakothek der Moderne. With grassy meadows, winding bicycle trails and even a lakeside beer garden, Munich’s Englischer Garten is a great place to catch your breath.
Getting Around
Germany is a world leader in public transport, with Munich no exception.You’ll find an efficient transportation system, with trains, subways, trams and buses, running throughout the city. Parts of the Old Town are largely pedestrianised, which means walking is often the best way to get from A to B.
