Stretching for 15 kilometres along the Singapore Strait, East Coast Park covers a sprawling 185 hectares and is considered an urban oasis. On any given day you'll see people strolling, cycling and skateboarding along the promenade and tree-lined avenues. The beach is a hotspot for water sports, including windsurfing, wakeboarding and kayaking.
A grassy foreshore fringed by swaying coconut palms and casuarina trees makes East Coast Park a great place to enjoy a picnic, sunbathing and sandcastle building. Kids will love watching skateboarders in action at the Xtreme SkatePark and exploring the colourful adventure playground at Marine Cove.
There are plenty of places to wine and dine, including waterfront restaurants, bars and cafes. You can also feast on snacks at the bustling East Coast Food Lagoon, where you'll find local Singaporean favourites, such as barbecue chicken and satay skewers.
Getting there
East Coast Park is a 15-minute drive or taxi ride from the city centre. Buses run from central Singapore to East Coast Park in around one hour or you can walk from Bedok MRT Station in 30 minutes.
