National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences is in the Yanchao District of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. The University specialises in all forms of state of the art engineering, management and commerce fields and serves more than 13,000 students and over 100,000 alumni. Each tower has double spiral staircases where visitors can ascend and admire the lake from one of the viewing platforms. One of the top landmarks of Taiwan is also nearby. Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum is home to towering Buddha statues, eight pagodas and palaces and are one of the most popular attractions in the city.
National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences is easy to reach by road, as it is close to the main road network connecting the city with outlying areas. Buses and MRT metro lines transport visitors from downtown or Kaohsiung International Airport. The city’s International airport is around 20 minutes south of the centre.
The University was established in 1963 when the Taiwanese Government assigned funds to establish a learning facility in the city. In autumn of the same year, graduates were admitted into the University to study Civil and Chemical Engineering. In the early 1990s, the facility expanded its programme of Engineering studies to incorporate Business, International Trade, and Tourism and a second campus was constructed. In the year 2000, the campus was renamed National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences, and it has since expanded even further, adding more programmes to its curriculum.
