About Novigrad

Novigrad is a lively town built around a picturesque fishing harbour and a yacht-filled marina. Sunbathe on pebble-strewn town beaches or escape to a secluded stretch of sand on the Istrian Peninsula. Things to do in Novigrad

Karpinjan Beach is set at the northern end of the harbour and fringed by pebble sand and pine trees. Bask in the sunshine and cool off in the shallow, crystal-clear water. Rent a kayak and paddle out into the bay for fantastic views of the town. Venture up the coast to enjoy the sandy beaches near Umag.

Istralandia is one of the top water parks in Croatia and is packed with family-friendly rides and attractions. Swim in the enormous wave pool, race down colourful slides and enjoy live entertainment throughout the day. High-speed waterslides like Black Kamikaza and Space Combo promise an adrenaline rush.

Small but engaging, Museo Lapidario showcases artefacts salvaged from archaeological sites across the Istrian Peninsula. Discover a wealth of relics from the early Roman era, including centuries-old limestone friezes and fragments of a decorative sarcophagus. The museum gift shop sells jewellery, clothing and homewares designed by Croatian artists.

The hillsides surrounding Novigrad are dotted with boutique wineries. Most grow local Malvazija Istarska grapes, a variety used to make rich, full-bodied reds. Spend the day sampling local blends and enjoy lunch at a restaurant overlooking the vineyards. Combine your tour with a visit to a local olive oil farm.
