About South Brisbane

Centred around the lively riverfront district of South Bank, South Brisbane is an inner-city suburb that is traditionally known as Kurilpa by the area’s Indigenous people. It’s a major cultural and entertainment hub in Brisbane, with world-class museums, globally-inspired restaurants and a legendary weekend market.

Things to do in South Brisbane

Delve into the state's natural, cultural and scientific history at the Queensland Museum, which is also home to the hands-on and interactive activities of the Spark Lab. It is located alongside the State Library of Queensland and the Queensland Art Gallery, where you’ll find several significant pieces of art that include Richard Godfrey Rivers’ “Under the Jacaranda”.
