About Brisbane Airport

Brisbane Airport is the third busiest Australian airport and the largest in the state of Queensland. It's situated in northeast of Brisbane, alongside Brisbane Port, and offers flights to 42 domestic and 26 international destinations.

The airport is used by 26 airlines, including being the primary hub for Virgin Australia and a major base for Qantas and budget airline Jetstar. Intercontinental destinations include Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok, Hawaii, and various cities in China. Separate domestic and international terminals are connected by the Airport Transport Bus. This also provides a link to Skygate, the airport's shopping and entertainment centre, which also offers accommodation.

Taxi ranks are found outside both the main Domestic and International arrival halls. The Con-x-ion bus company offer door-to-door transport to Brisbane City, the Gold Coast, and the Sunshine Coast. In addition, the new Airtrain runs regular services to Brisbane and train stations in the Gold Coast. This train provides a connection between the domestic and international terminals.

Qantas have been flying out of Brisbane since 1926, when planes took off from a rugged airstrip on Eagle Farm. The Eagle Farm Airport was still being used up to Brisbane Airport being built in 1988. The international terminal was opened in 1995.
